Overview

Integrating Twilio SMS with your CRM system can greatly enhance customer communication by enabling seamless, automated messaging directly from your CRM platform. By utilizing Twilio’s powerful API, businesses can send personalized SMS messages, track responses, and streamline communication workflows.

This integration is valuable for various purposes, including customer support, marketing campaigns, and appointment reminders, allowing businesses to connect with their clients in a more efficient and cost-effective manner.

Streamline SMS Communication with Twilio SMS Integration

In this article, we will guide you through the steps to integrate Twilio SMS with your CRM, including the setup of key features such as Messaging Services, SMS senders, and more.


Create Twilio Account

To successfully configure the integration between Twilio SMS and your CRM system, the first crucial step is to ensure you have an active Twilio account.

Don't have an account yet? If you haven't registered to Twilio already, please by filling out the required sign up form.

Once your account is set up, you'll need to verify your email address to activate it fully. This is essential for gaining access to the platform's features. Following activation, log into your Twilio account and navigate to the API section to obtain the necessary API credentials.


Configure Twilio SMS Integration

Setting up Twilio SMS with your CRM list is a straightforward process that typically takes only a few moments. Let's get stared!

Go to Integrations

On the main dashboard of your list, find the Integrations button, which is represented by a plug icon in the main navigation menu. Click on it to view the available integration tools:

Select Twilio SMS

To proceed, locate the list of available tools on your interface and search for Twilio SMS. Once you find it, click on the prominent blue +Integrate button to initiate the setup process:

Next, paste your Account SID, AUTH TOKEN, and Messaging Services SID from your Twilio account into the designated fields. After entering the information, click the Save button.

Account SID

An Account SID (Account SID stands for "Account Identifier") is a unique identifier associated with your account in Twilio. You can find it at the bottom of your main dashboard in the Account Info section:

AUTH TOKEN

An Auth Token is a secret key used alongside the Account SID to authenticate and authorize API requests, ensuring secure access to the platform's services. Similary to the Account SID, you will fin your Auth Token in the Account Info section:

Messaging Service SID

Messaging Service

A Messaging Service in Twilio is a feature that allows you to send SMS, MMS, and other messaging services using a unified, scalable system. It provides tools to manage message routing, sender IDs, and message delivery, helping you optimize communication with your users.

To access the Messaging Service SID, start by searching for Messaging Services in Twilio browser and select this option from the search results.

If you already have some Messaging Services created, you will find the SID next to the service's name:

If you don't have any yet, begin by clicking the Create Messaging Service button. Enter the name of your Messaging Service and choose one of the available use cases. Then, your new service, along with its SID will appear in your Messaging services list.


SMS Sender

The final configuration option is the SMS sender. If you want your clients to recognize your company name as the message sender, you can enter it in the SMS sender section. In our case it will be dgred CRM.

Don't forget to update your settings by hitting the Save button.
